The Hyde Hood – Tunisian Crochet Pattern

The Hyde Hood is a simple, yet practical hooded scarf which is made using Tunisian crochet. The pattern includes three length variations, which each have differing scarf lengths.

SKILL LEVEL:
Intermediate crocheters. It is recommended to have a basic understanding of the core crochet techniques and terminology. It is suitable for Tunisian crochet beginners.

TECHNIQUES USED:
It uses the Tunisian Simple Stitch (Tss) and a series of increases and decreases. There is also an optional crochet I-cord edge.

SIZES:
All three sizes have the same hood section, it is the scarf length that differs. Size 1 (Size 2) Size 3 have a length of 29cm (50cm) 76cm long (see listing photos).

HOOK REQUIREMENTS:
6mm Tunisian crochet hook (both straight and circular are suitable), tapestry needle, stitch markers. The optional i-cord edge requires at least one 6mm crochet hook.

YARN REQUIREMENTS:
The hood is worked with one strand of a DK weight yarn. 

For Size 1 (Size 2) and Size 3, you will need: 150g (200g) 250g of Kingcole Merino Blend DK, 50g/104m/113yds. 

Most DK weight yarn will be suitable, but you will need to calculate the meterage/yardage required for your chosen alternative yarn.
